From Prejudice to Role Models
Danish truck drivers are often among the first at the scene of an accident — long before police and ambulances arrive. They already help. Now we give them the recognition and the tools.

For every time the media writes “truck involved in accident” drivers have helped — or could have helped — at up to a thousand others
Drivers never get credit for that in the media. Samaritans of the Road wants to change that. We are changing the image of Danish truck drivers — from prejudice to role models.

Also Good Business
Haulage companies that have already expressed interest mention the same reasons. It’s not just about image.
Europe is short more than 200,000 truck drivers. Haulage companies tell us it's hard to stand out. Samaritans of the Road gives your company a profile that attracts and retains drivers.
Drivers who have acted in a crisis without preparation have a higher risk of psychological after-effects and long-term sick leave. Preparation prevents this.
Equipping your drivers is not charity — it's professional risk management and an investment in the safety culture that defines your company.
Traffic congestion costs Denmark approx. €4 billion per year. A significant portion is caused by accidents — and the majority of the economic interests on the road belong to the transport industry. Faster and better accident handling reduces queues and chaos that directly impact your operations.
In the 1970s and 80s, you were known as “Knights of the Road” — the ones who always stopped and helped.
That story deserves to come back.
Samaritans of the Road is the modern version — not as romance, but as professional competence with concrete tools.
What’s Included
As a Samaritan of the Road, your driver gets a complete kit — ready to use from day one. No full-day courses. No operational downtime.
Everything the driver needs — bundled in one package per truck
15 robust instruction cards in Danish and English, specifically designed for traffic situations. Withstands water, cold, and rough use. A guide at hand — when it matters.
A professional reflective vest that provides visibility and authority at the accident scene. The driver becomes visible as a helper — not just a bystander.
The icon on the windshield shows that this truck has a prepared driver. A visible part of the Samaritans of the Road community.
Targeted, practical training material that fits into a driver's daily life. Available on mobile, tablet, and computer — whenever it suits.
Are you a haulage company owner and want to hear more about the Samaritan package for your fleet?
From the Road
I’ve been driving trucks since the 1970s and have seen more than 100 serious accidents. Often I am one of the very first at the scene, long before police and ambulance arrive. With Action-cards®, I feel more confident that I can make a difference the next time I see an accident. Maybe I can save some people’s lives.

Truck driver
Even though I attend the mandatory safety course every 5 years, it has always been difficult when I experience traffic accidents — because I start doubting whether I’m doing the right thing, and that makes me uneasy. As a haulage company owner, I am also responsible for ensuring all my drivers can and dare act correctly. That’s why all my trucks now each have their own set of Action-cards®.

Already Underway
Samaritans of the Road is a living project that grows with the industry. We are in dialogue with haulage companies, drivers, and organisations across Denmark.
Denmark's oldest driver club backs the project as a collaboration partner.
Already more than a dozen active samaritans from Convoy Buddy's network — and a waiting list of interested drivers.
Haulage companies from events such as the Hauliers' Day in Dalby have expressed interest — from small businesses to large corporations.
We are looking for haulage companies and transport businesses who want to help change the image of Danish truck drivers — from prejudice to role models.
Write or call us. We’d love to tell you more about the project and the opportunities for becoming a partner.
